Earlier this month, Southern Skydivers were announced as winners in three awards categories at The Margaret River Region 2014 Business Awards (MRRBA!):

Southern Skydivers Marketing Manager, Amy Stutt, commented: “We have been overwhelmed by support from our peers within the Margaret River Region Business community. Winning these awards has opened up new doors for us, and we have made some fantastic connections for our business. Our experienced team are committed to providing outstanding customer service, and we believe that this is the key to our success in the 2014 MRRBA, and in business. Thank you to our loyal customers for their ongoing support, and to the Margaret River Chamber of Commerce and Industry for putting together a fantastic event.”

Mrs. Stutt continued: “The nomination and submission process was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on our operational procedures and policies. This was made easier through having already achieved our Accreditation through the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program.”

The Margaret River Business Awards, in their 7 year running, are a collaboration between the Margaret River Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI) and the Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association (AMRTA). They are designed to recognize business excellence and the outstanding contribution made by those businesses and individuals whose business and tourism services set a high standard throughout the Margaret River Region.

The winning submissions highlighted our innovative approach to developing products and services, as well as our customer care strategies. We demonstrated our commitment to sustainability, and contribution to the Busselton and Margaret River local communities. Contributions included community projects, fundraisers and extending our services to customers with disabilities.

Our business has seen significant growth since it’s establishment in 2010. During the last financial year, the we brought over 6,000 skydive specific travelers to the Margaret River Region, equating to an estimated $642,800.00 spent in the South West WA tourism industry.

Southern Skydivers were chosen as finalist in the three categories we won in by a panel of eight judges including judges from QANTAS, Curtin University and The Peel Development Commission. The judging process included an onsite inspection alongside a written submission form.

Winning the Western Australia Regional Business Award (WARSBA) means that we will now qualify to enter our business at the regional level in September 2014, where we will compete with businesses from all over Western Australia.
